Obituary of Edmund E Eaves

Webster: Surrounded by his loving family, died Friday, September 25, 2015, at the age of 86. After only 25 days apart, he went to join the love of his life, Leota "Mickey" Eaves. Edmund was a saint of a husband, a dedicated father, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather, and a dear friend. His life revolved around his large family and numerous friends, who will never forget his infamous quips, stories, and cheerful disposition. Edmund was born November 28, 1928, in Rochester. In 1946, he graduated from Edison Tech High School. After serving in the Army as an MP, he spent over 30 years working at Kodak, first as a lab technician and later in research and development. For many years, Edmund led and played the bass drum in the West Webster Fire Department marching band—he especially enjoyed playing The Stars and Stripes Forever. After meeting on a blind date, he fell in love with and married Mickey on September 5, 1953, in Rochester. Edmund worked hard to provide a stable home for his family and devoted his free time to his children, coaching their little league teams, leading their cub scout troops, and taking them camping in the Adirondacks. Predeceased by his wife, Mickey; and his siblings, Esther Eaves & Mary Tubbs. He leaves his children, Katie (Jim) Foti, Dr. Edmund (Dr. Marilyn) Eaves, Jeanne (Dan Gunther) Eaves, John (Debbie) Eaves, Barbara Eaves; grandchildren, Eddie (Nikki) Foti, Emily (Bob Eagan) Foti, Jessica (Dave Weibel) Eaves, Alison (Randall) Stauffer, Abigail Eaves, Tammy Schlegel, Ray (Danielle Petote) Schlegel, Matthew and John Eaves Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Annabella, Gianna & Nicholas Foti. Friends may call 4-7PM Tuesday at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 AM Wednesday at St. Rita's Church, 1008 Maple Dr., Webster. Interment at Webster Rural Cemetery
